The area experiences a distinct dry season and a wet season. The dry season stretches from March to August, making it the most popular time for tourism, beach activities, and whale watching. The wet season is driven by the Northeast Monsoon (Maha monsoon), which brings heavy rainfall primarily between October and January. Humidity is typically high, averaging around 75-80%. The region is occasionally vulnerable to cyclones and heavy tropical depressions originating in the Bay of Bengal during the monsoon months.
