Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA), located approximately 30 km north in Katunayake, is the country's primary aviation gateway, connected to Colombo via the Colombo-Katunayake Expressway. Road infrastructure is continually being upgraded, though traffic congestion remains a daily challenge during peak hours.
