The town is enveloped by sprawling rubber plantations that offer a serene, canopy-covered environment. Small municipal parks provide play areas for children, but the true nature experience is found by venturing slightly out of the town limits towards the foothills of the Western Ghats, where rich tropical flora, spice gardens, and diverse birdlife can be observed.
