Haridwar experiences a monsoon-influenced humid subtropical climate (Köppen climate classification: *Cwa*). The year is divided into three primary seasons: summer, monsoon, and winter.
Summers (April to June) are hot and relatively humid, with daytime temperatures often soaring between 35°C and 40°C (95°F–104°F). The monsoon season (July to September) brings heavy, sometimes torrential, rainfall which significantly raises the water levels of the Ganges; high humidity and temperatures around 30°C (86°F) are common. Winters (October to March) are cool, clear, and very pleasant. Daytime temperatures range from 15°C to 24°C (59°F–75°F), though nighttime temperatures in December and January can drop to 5°C (41°F).
The best time to visit is during the cooler months from October to March, or during the festive seasons of February and March, when the weather is mild and conducive to exploring the ghats and temples.
