Weather & climate

Dharmanagar experiences a tropical monsoon climate (Köppen climate classification *Am*). The weather is generally warm and humid throughout the year, with distinct seasonal variations driven by the monsoon.

* **Summer (March to May):** Temperatures range from 24°C to 35°C, characterized by high humidity and occasional pre-monsoon thunderstorms. * **Monsoon (June to September):** The city receives heavy and prolonged rainfall, often leading to swelling of the Juri River. Annual rainfall averages over 2,500 mm. * **Winter (November to February):** Winters are mild and pleasant, with temperatures dropping to between 10°C and 25°C. This is widely considered the best time to visit.

Natural disasters are infrequent, though the region is occasionally susceptible to localized flooding during extreme monsoon downpours and falls within a high-risk seismic zone (Zone V).
