Agartala experiences a humid subtropical climate (Köppen: Cwa) that borders on a tropical savanna climate (Aw). The weather is generally warm and highly humid for much of the year.
The city has three main seasons: summer, monsoon, and winter. Summers (March to May) are hot and humid, with average temperatures ranging from 28°C to 35°C (82°F to 95°F). The monsoon season (June to September) brings heavy, relentless rainfall, often causing localized flooding. The city receives an average annual rainfall of over 2,000 mm. Winters (November to February) are pleasant, mild, and dry, with temperatures cooling down to between 10°C and 22°C (50°F to 72°F).
The best time to visit Agartala is during the winter months (October to March), when the weather is cool and comfortable, and major festivals like Durga Puja and Diwali are celebrated with great fervor.
