Warangal experiences a tropical wet and dry climate, classified under the Köppen climate classification as *Aw*. The year is broadly divided into three seasons: summer, monsoon, and winter.
Summers (March to May) are notoriously hot and dry, with daytime temperatures regularly soaring between 40°C and 42°C (104°F to 108°F), sometimes peaking even higher in May. The monsoon season (June to September) brings vital relief, largely influenced by the southwest monsoon. The city receives an average annual rainfall of about 800 mm to 900 mm, which replenishes its lakes and agricultural fields.
Winters (November to February) are highly pleasant, with mild, dry days and cool nights. Temperatures during this period range from a comfortable 15°C to 28°C (59°F to 82°F). Due to the scorching summers, the best time to visit Warangal is between October and March.
