The historical chain of lakes built by the Kakatiya dynasty still plays a critical role in local irrigation, supplemented by modern state initiatives like the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project, which ensures year-round water availability. Allied agricultural activities, including poultry, dairy farming, and inland fisheries in the local lakes, also contribute significantly to the food production sector.
