Weather & climate

Jaipur features a hot semi-arid climate (Köppen climate classification *BSh*). The city experiences three distinct seasons: a long, sweltering summer, a brief but intense monsoon, and a pleasant, mild winter.

Summers (April to early July) are exceptionally hot and dry, with average daily highs frequently exceeding 40°C (104°F) and occasionally peaking around 45°C (113°F). The monsoon season follows from late July through September, bringing the bulk of the city’s annual rainfall of approximately 600 mm (24 inches), accompanied by higher humidity. Winters (November to February) are mild and sunny, with daytime temperatures averaging between 15°C and 25°C (59°F to 77°F), though nighttime temperatures can occasionally drop close to freezing. Because of the intense summer heat, the best time to visit Jaipur is from October to March.
