Yanam relies primarily on road networks for connectivity. National Highway 216 passes close to the district, linking it to major Andhra Pradesh cities like Kakinada, Rajahmundry, and Amalapuram.
Public transit is facilitated by both the Puducherry Road Transport Corporation (PRTC), which runs long-distance buses to the capital city of Puducherry, and the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) for local routes. There is no railway station or airport within Yanam. The nearest major railhead is Kakinada Town (about 26 km away), and the closest domestic airport is in Rajahmundry (approx. 70 km away). Within the town, auto-rickshaws and two-wheelers are the primary modes of transport, while small ferries and boats cross the Godavari River.
