Weather & climate

Mahe experiences a tropical monsoon climate (Köppen climate classification *Am*).

Temperatures remain relatively warm and uniform throughout the year, typically ranging from 24°C (75°F) to 34°C (93°F). The region is heavily influenced by the Southwest Monsoon, which brings torrential rainfall from June to September. A lighter retreating monsoon (Northeast Monsoon) brings additional rain in October and November. Humidity is consistently high, often exceeding 80%.

The best time to visit Mahe is during the dry, relatively cooler winter months from December to March, when the skies are clear and the humidity is more manageable. Natural disasters are rare, though coastal erosion and heavy monsoon flooding can occasionally occur.
