Auroville experiences a tropical wet and dry climate, which closely borders a tropical savanna classification (Köppen Aw). The region is known for its hot and humid conditions throughout much of the year.

Summer temperatures, peaking between April and June, frequently reach 40°C (104°F) with high humidity. The northeast monsoon brings the majority of the region's rainfall between October and December, accompanied by occasional tropical cyclones originating in the Bay of Bengal. Winter (December to March) offers the most pleasant weather, with average daytime temperatures ranging from 20°C to 28°C (68°F to 82°F), making it the best time to visit.
