Bhubaneswar boasts some of the most reliable civic infrastructure in eastern India. Power distribution is managed by TPCODL (a Tata Power joint venture), providing relatively stable electricity.
Water supply and sanitation have seen massive upgrades under WATCO. Bhubaneswar recently achieved a milestone by becoming the first major Indian city to implement a "Drink from Tap" mission (Sujal), providing 24x7 direct-to-home quality drinking water in several municipal wards. Telecommunications infrastructure is highly developed, with comprehensive 4G/5G cellular coverage and widespread high-speed fiber broadband from providers like Jio, Airtel, and BSNL. The city's Smart City command center integrates traffic management, public Wi-Fi, and emergency services.
