Transportation in Zunheboto is entirely reliant on the road network. The town is connected to the commercial hub of Dimapur and the state capital of Kohima via National Highway 702 and state roads. Due to the mountainous terrain and heavy monsoon rains, road conditions can occasionally be challenging.
There is no railway or airport in Zunheboto; the nearest major railhead and airport are located in Dimapur, roughly 150 kilometers away. Within the town, shared taxis (often Maruti Altos or Sumos) and regional buses are the lifelines of public transit. Walking is common for short distances, though the steep inclines make it physically demanding.
