Topography

The topography of Zunheboto is rugged and mountainous. Situated at an elevation of roughly 1,874 meters (6,148 feet) above sea level, the town itself is built across the crests and slopes of steep hills.

The surrounding terrain is characterized by deep gorges, high-altitude ridges, and sharp inclines that make navigation challenging but offer breathtaking panoramic vistas. The nearby Satoi Range is one of the district's most notable topographic features, retaining pristine tracts of virgin forest and serving as an important ecological reserve. Because of the steep slopes, terracing is a common sight in the valleys below, while the town's buildings often cling to the hillsides.
