Wokha is primarily reliant on road networks for transportation. National Highway 2 (formerly NH 61) passes directly through the town, serving as a critical lifeline connecting it south to Kohima (the state capital) and north to Mokokchung.
Public transit within and outside the town is facilitated by the Nagaland State Transport (NST) buses, as well as a robust network of private shared taxis (typically yellow and black) and regional sumos (large utility vehicles) that navigate the hilly terrain.
There is no railway station or airport in Wokha; the nearest major railhead and airport are located in Dimapur, roughly a 4-to-5-hour drive away. Due to the steep topography, there is no formal bicycle infrastructure, and walking along the hilly, winding roads is common for short-distance local commutes.
