Agriculture in Wokha is characterized by both traditional shifting cultivation (jhum) and settled terraced farming. The region's fertile soil and favorable climate make it one of the most productive agricultural districts in Nagaland.
Major crops include rice, maize, and taro. Wokha is particularly renowned for its horticulture; it is one of the state's largest producers of organic fruits, including oranges, passion fruit, plums, bananas, and pineapples. Cash crops such as rubber, tea, and coffee have also been increasingly adopted by farmers for better economic returns. Forestry and non-timber forest products, alongside small-scale pig and poultry rearing, supplement agricultural incomes.
