The topography of Mon is highly undulating. The town is perched at an elevation of approximately 897 meters (2,942 feet), affording sweeping panoramic views of the adjacent valleys and, on clear days, the distant plains of Assam.
The broader district ranges from low foothills bordering Assam to towering peaks along the Myanmar border. Veda Peak (also known as Pak Koi), located roughly 70 kilometers from Mon town, is the highest point in the district, offering views of the Brahmaputra River and the Chindwin River in Myanmar. The landscape features a series of steep V-shaped valleys and narrow ridges.
