Transportation

Serchhip is well-connected to the state capital, Aizawl (approximately 112 km away), via National Highway 2 (formerly NH 54).

* **Roads:** Roadways are the primary mode of transport. Daily private buses, government buses, and shared Sumo (maxi-cab) taxis connect Serchhip to Aizawl, Lunglei, and other districts. * **Air:** A subsidized helicopter service (operated by Pawan Hans) provides rapid connectivity between Serchhip and Aizawl. The nearest commercial airport is Lengpui Airport, near Aizawl. * **Rail:** There is currently no railway network in Serchhip; the nearest railheads are at Bairabi in northern Mizoram or Silchar in neighboring Assam. * **Local Transit:** Auto-rickshaws, two-wheelers, and walking are the most common ways to navigate the town's steep and winding streets.
