Geography

Serchhip is located in the central part of Mizoram, roughly 112 kilometers south of the state capital, Aizawl. The town is situated on a ridge, surrounded by a dramatic landscape of steep hills, deep river valleys, and dense tropical and subtropical forests.

Two significant rivers define the town's immediate physical geography: the Mat River to the south and the Tuikum River to the north. These waterways are not only crucial for the region's drinking water and irrigation but also add immensely to the area's picturesque geography. The surrounding forests host rich biodiversity, including various species of regional flora, vast bamboo groves, and native wildlife.
