Neighborhoods

In Mizo culture, neighborhoods are referred to as *Vengs*. Kolasib is divided into several distinct Vengs, each with its own local council and community hall (YMA Hall): * **Diakkawn:** One of the main commercial and transit hubs within the town, bustling with shops and transport depots. * **Venglai:** Meaning "Central Neighborhood," this is a primary residential and administrative area. * **Project Veng:** Named for earlier developmental projects, this is a heavily populated residential sector. * **Hmar Veng:** The "Northern Neighborhood," predominantly residential. * **Saidan:** A quieter, more sprawling area known for its scenic views and residential expansion. * **Khuangpuilawn:** A historic and vital locality within the greater Kolasib urban area.
