Government

Kolasib is administered by a Deputy Commissioner (DC), an officer of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) who oversees the executive, magisterial, and developmental functions of the Kolasib district.

At the local municipal level, the town is divided into various *Vengs* (neighborhoods), each governed by a Local Council or Village Council. These councils are elected bodies responsible for grassroots administration, sanitation, and local dispute resolution.

Politically, Kolasib falls under the Mizoram Legislative Assembly, contributing representatives (MLAs) to the state government in Aizawl. It is also part of the single Mizoram Lok Sabha constituency for representation in the national Parliament.
