Geography

Khawzawl is located in eastern Mizoram, characterized by a series of parallel mountain ridges oriented north to south. The town sits atop a ridge, offering panoramic views of the surrounding deep valleys and forested slopes. The region falls under the Indo-Myanmar biodiversity hotspot, featuring dense subtropical vegetation, bamboo groves, and rich flora and fauna.

The climate is broadly classified as humid subtropical (Köppen climate classification Cwa/Cwb). It enjoys moderate, pleasant temperatures throughout the year. The geographical layout makes it heavily dependent on the monsoon rains for its water supply and agricultural sustenance, though the hilly terrain ensures excellent natural drainage.
