Topography

The topography of Hnahthial is highly uneven, situated at an average elevation of approximately 870 meters (2,850 feet) above sea level.

The landscape is dominated by high ridges, steep slopes, and plunging valleys. Buildings and roads are typically constructed along the contours of the hills. Because flat land is exceptionally scarce, the town's physical layout is linear and tiered, following the natural curvature of the mountainsides. There are no expansive plains or coastal areas, but the region is punctuated by deep, rain-fed gorges.
