Geography

Hnahthial is located in the southern-central part of Mizoram. The region's geography is defined by the steep, parallel mountain ridges and deep river valleys that characterize the broader Mizo Hills.

The town is surrounded by dense, verdant forests that are rich in biodiversity, including varieties of bamboo, timber, and subtropical flora. The nearby Tuipui river and other smaller mountain streams serve as vital water sources for both the town and the surrounding agricultural lands. The terrain makes for breathtaking scenic views but poses natural challenges for extensive urban expansion.
