Weather & climate

Tura falls under a humid subtropical climate (Köppen climate classification Cwa), heavily influenced by the Southwest Monsoon. The year is distinctly divided into a warm, wet summer and a cool, dry winter.

Summers (April to October) are warm and highly humid, with average high temperatures ranging from 25°C to 32°C (77°F to 90°F). The monsoon season, generally starting in June and lasting through September, brings intense and unrelenting rainfall, contributing to Meghalaya's reputation as one of the wettest places on Earth. During this period, localized landslides and road blockages are occasional natural hazards.

Winters (November to March) are mild, clear, and highly pleasant, making this the best time to visit. Temperatures during winter range from a crisp 10°C to 22°C (50°F to 72°F). Frost and snowfall do not occur in Tura.
