Recreation in and around Nongstoin is heavily tied to the outdoors. The natural landscape offers excellent opportunities for trekking, angling, and river camping, particularly around Nongkhnum Island and the Kynshi River. Within the town, local youth are highly active in community sports. Open grounds frequently host neighborhood football matches, while traditional indigenous archery (*Teer*) serves as both a recreational pastime and a local competitive event.
