Thoubal is highly accessible by road, primarily via Asian Highway 1 (AH1) / National Highway 102, which runs directly through the city, connecting it north to Imphal and south to Moreh on the Myanmar border.
Public transportation within the city and to neighboring towns is dominated by private auto-rickshaws, shared Tata Magic vans, and private buses. The city is highly walkable in its central commercial zones.
Thoubal does not have its own airport or railway station. The nearest airport is Bir Tikendrajit International Airport in Imphal (~30 km away), and the nearest major railhead is currently in Jiribam, though the ongoing Jiribam-Imphal railway project will soon bring rail connectivity much closer to the region.
