Geography

Churachandpur is located in the southwestern part of Manipur, situated within a scenic valley surrounded by the rolling hills of the broader Patkai mountain range system. The town itself rests on a relatively flat plateau within the hills, giving it a unique geographic advantage for urban settlement compared to the steeper surrounding terrain.

The Khuga River, a significant water body in the region, flows south of the town before winding its way through the district. The surrounding landscape is characterized by lush subtropical forests, rich biodiversity, and fertile hill slopes used for both traditional and modern agriculture. Natural resources in the broader district include timber, bamboo, and various non-timber forest products.
