Tourism

Kalpeni is one of the few islands in Lakshadweep open to domestic tourists. Access is highly regulated, requiring an Inner Line Permit and arrival via passenger ships from Kochi.

* **Coral Debris Storm Bank:** A defining geological feature of Kalpeni is the massive bank of coral debris along its eastern and southeastern shorelines, deposited by a historic cyclone in 1847. * **Tip Beach:** The primary tourist hub on the island, known for its pristine white sands, shallow waters, and tourist amenities. * **Satellite Islands:** Kalpeni is grouped with three small, uninhabited islets (Cheriyam, Tillakkam, and Pitti), which can be explored via boat tours. * **Moidin Mosque:** A historically significant local mosque featuring traditional coral-stone architecture.
