The population of Kadmat is almost entirely Muslim, following the Shafi'i school of Sunni Islam. Religion plays a central and harmonious role in the daily life of the islanders. The landscape is dotted with several mosques that serve as centers for both worship and community gathering. The architectural style of these mosques is simple and suited to the tropical climate, often featuring traditional wooden carvings and sloping roofs reminiscent of Kerala's coastal architecture.
