Andrott is located in the Arabian Sea and is part of the Laccadive Islands subgroup of the Lakshadweep archipelago. It covers a land area of roughly 4.9 square kilometers. A notable geographical feature of Andrott is its east-west orientation, which contrasts sharply with the north-south alignment of all other islands in the territory.
The island is a coral atoll, but unlike many other islands in Lakshadweep, its lagoon is unusually small and shallow, offering less natural anchorage for ships. The soil is predominantly composed of coral sand and limestone fragments, which is highly porous.
The landscape is intensely verdant, dominated by a thick canopy of coconut palms. The surrounding waters are rich in marine biodiversity, featuring colorful coral reefs, numerous fish species, and sea turtles, though the island lacks significant inland water bodies or major terrestrial wildlife.
