Tso Moriri is an endorheic (landlocked) lake, measuring roughly 26 kilometers in length and up to 5 kilometers in width. Fed by springs and snowmelt from the surrounding mountains of the Changthang plateau, its waters are oligotrophic and alkaline. Due to its landlocked nature, the water is brackish, though not as highly saline as the neighboring Pangong Tso.
