Transportation to and around Tso Moriri is rugged and entirely road-based. There are no airports, railways, or public transit systems in the immediate vicinity.
* **Roads:** The lake is located about 240 kilometers from Leh. It can be accessed via two main routes: one through Chumathang (following the Indus River) and the other via Tso Kar and the More Plains. The roads are a mix of paved military roads and rough, unpaved dirt tracks. * **Vehicles:** High-clearance SUVs, 4x4 jeeps, and robust motorcycles (like Royal Enfields) are the standard modes of transport for both locals and tourists. * **Restrictions:** To protect the wetland ecology, vehicles are not permitted to drive right up to the lake shore.
