Tso Moriri is a prime destination for off-the-beaten-path tourism in Ladakh. Visitors come primarily to see the striking, shifting blue waters of the lake set against barren, snow-capped mountains. Key landmarks include the ancient Korzok Monastery (Korzok Gompa), which sits on a hill overlooking the lake and village. To protect the fragile border region ecosystem, foreign tourists require a Protected Area Permit (PAP) and domestic tourists need an Inner Line Permit (ILP) to visit.
