Housing

Housing in the Tso Moriri area reflects the extreme environment and the dual nomadic-settled lifestyle of the inhabitants.

* **Permanent Housing:** In Korzok village, homes are traditionally built using stone, mud-brick, and timber. They are designed with thick walls and small windows to retain heat during the brutal winters. * **Nomadic Housing:** The Changpa nomads live in *Rebos*—large, durable tents woven from yak hair. These tents are surprisingly warm, wind-resistant, and easily dismantled to move with the grazing herds. * **Tourist Accommodation:** There are very few permanent hotels. Most visitors stay in seasonal canvas tent camps set up near the lake (primarily at Peldo Le) or in basic homestays offered by Korzok residents.
