Transportation to and from Diskit relies entirely on the road network. The town is connected to Leh (the UT capital) via the Khardung La pass, one of the highest motorable roads in the world. This journey takes approximately 4 to 5 hours by car.
Within the town and the broader Nubra Valley, shared taxis and private rental cars are the primary mode of public transit. There are limited local bus services operated by the JKSRTC connecting Diskit to surrounding villages like Turtuk, Sumur, and Panamik. There is no railway infrastructure, and the nearest commercial airport is the Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport in Leh. In recent years, road conditions have improved significantly under the oversight of the Border Roads Organization (BRO).
