Infrastructure in Diskit has improved markedly in recent years but still faces challenges inherent to extreme altitudes and remote geography.
Electricity was historically dependent on diesel generators and small localized solar grids, but Diskit is now increasingly connected to the Northern Grid, though power outages still occur. Water is sourced from glacial streams and borewells; during winter, pipes frequently freeze, requiring residents to collect water manually. Telecommunications have vastly improved with the installation of Jio and BSNL cellular towers, bringing 4G internet access to the valley, though broadband remains limited and speeds can fluctuate based on weather and tourist volume.
