Weather & climate

Bengaluru features a tropical savanna climate (Köppen climate classification *Aw*) with distinct wet and dry seasons. Thanks to its high elevation, the city enjoys a more moderate and pleasant climate throughout the year compared to most of India's other major cities.

- **Summers (March to May):** Warm but rarely oppressive. Average highs range between 32°C to 34°C (90°F to 93°F). - **Monsoons (June to October):** The city receives rainfall from both the Southwest and Northeast monsoons. September is typically the wettest month. Heavy rains occasionally cause local flooding due to urban infrastructure strains. - **Winters (November to February):** Mild and highly pleasant. Average lows are around 15°C to 17°C (59°F to 63°F), with daytime highs around 28°C (82°F).

The best time to visit is widely considered to be from October to February, when the weather is cool, breezy, and clear.
