Infrastructure

Bengaluru's infrastructure is currently in a state of continuous upgrade to keep pace with its rapid expansion. **Electricity** is supplied by the Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM). **Water supply and sewerage** are managed by the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB); the city is heavily dependent on water pumped from the Cauvery River, nearly 100 kilometers away, which often creates supply stress during dry years.

Telecommunications and internet infrastructure are world-class. Bengaluru boasts some of the highest broadband penetrations in India (providers like ACT Fibernet, Airtel, Jio) and has extensive 4G and growing 5G cellular coverage. However, peripheral areas frequently struggle with potholed roads and inadequate underground drainage, leading to waterlogging during intense monsoons.
