The highest point in the immediate vicinity is the Dalma Hill range to the north, which peaks at approximately 915 meters (3,000 feet). The valleys formed by the Subarnarekha and Kharkai rivers create natural boundaries for the city, though modern infrastructure and bridges have allowed the urban agglomeration to spill over into areas like Adityapur and Mango.
