Weather & climate

Una experiences a humid subtropical climate (Köppen climate classification Cwa), heavily influenced by its proximity to the northern Indian plains. It is known for having some of the warmest temperatures in Himachal Pradesh.

* **Summer (April to June):** Summers are notably hot, with daytime temperatures frequently soaring between 35°C and 42°C (95°F to 108°F), sometimes peaking near 45°C during intense heat waves. * **Monsoon (July to September):** The monsoon season brings heavy and consistent rainfall, significantly raising humidity levels. This season is vital for agriculture but occasionally leads to waterlogging in low-lying areas. * **Winter (November to February):** Winters are cool and pleasant, with average temperatures ranging from 5°C to 20°C (41°F to 68°F). Frost can occasionally occur on the coldest nights, but it does not snow in Una.

The best time to visit is from October to March, when the weather is mild, sunny, and highly comfortable for travel.
