Media

Given its remote geography, media and communication infrastructure in Spiti is limited, though it has seen vital modern improvements.

* **Telecommunications & Internet:** Historically, the state-owned BSNL was the sole network provider with spotty connectivity. Recently, private operators like Reliance Jio have expanded 4G networks to Kaza and select high-altitude villages, transforming digital access for locals and tourists. * **Print Media:** Regional Hindi and English newspapers, such as *Amar Ujala*, *Divya Himachal*, and *The Tribune*, eventually reach Kaza, though delivery is entirely dependent on road conditions. * **Broadcast:** All India Radio (AIR) and state-run Doordarshan television are accessible via satellite, providing news and entertainment to remote hamlets.
