Weather & climate

Kullu experiences a humid subtropical climate that borders on an oceanic and highland climate due to its elevation.

* **Spring/Summer (March to June):** Pleasant and warm, making it the most popular time for tourism. Daytime temperatures range from 20°C to 30°C (68°F to 86°F). * **Monsoon (July to September):** The region receives heavy rainfall. Landslides and flash floods in the Beas River are common natural hazards during this period. * **Winter (November to February):** Winters are cold and crisp. Temperatures generally hover between 0°C and 15°C (32°F to 59°F). While the surrounding mountains receive heavy snow, snowfall in Kullu town itself is infrequent but does occur during intense winter storms.

The best time to visit is either during the spring and early summer (March to June) or during the autumn (September to November), which aligns with the apple harvest and the Kullu Dussehra festival.
