Housing

The housing market in Kasol has drastically changed with the tourism boom. Traditional homes in the region are built using the indigenous 'Kath-Kuni' architectural style, combining alternating layers of wood and stone, which provides excellent insulation and earthquake resistance.

Today, much of the village features modern, multi-story concrete structures built explicitly as guesthouses, hostels, and cafes. For locals, finding affordable housing can be challenging due to property owners prioritizing lucrative short-term tourist rentals. There are virtually no large-scale apartment complexes or condominiums; housing consists primarily of independent rural homes and commercial lodges.
