Public utilities in Chamba are managed by state-level departments and local municipal bodies, tailored to function in a high-altitude Himalayan environment.

* **Electricity**: Supplied and managed by the **Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board (HPSEB)**. The district is a hub for hydroelectric power (like the Chamera Dam projects), ensuring relatively stable power, though winter snows can cause occasional line disruptions. * **Water Supply**: Managed by the **Jal Shakti Vibhag (formerly Irrigation and Public Health - IPH)**. Water is primarily sourced from glacial melt, local springs, and the Ravi River tributaries. * **Waste Management**: Managed by the **Municipal Council Chamba**. The council organizes door-to-door waste collection and is increasingly focusing on segregation at the source, given the ecological sensitivity of the Himalayas. * **Gas**: LPG cylinders are distributed via agencies affiliated with Indian Oil (Indane) and HP Gas. Piped natural gas (PNG) is not currently available. * **Telecommunications**: Strong 4G coverage is provided by Jio, Airtel, and BSNL. BSNL provides reliable broadband and landline services, essential during harsh weather when private networks may face outages.
