The city hosts numerous agro-processing units, including cotton spinning mills, edible oil refineries, and spice packaging plants.
In recent years, the region has also seen a growing interest in organic farming and dairy production. Organizations like Amul have a massive supply-chain presence in and around the city, securing the dairy needs of millions of residents.
