Agriculture within the Moti Daman area is minimal due to urbanization, the presence of the fort, and its coastal soil.
In the broader Daman district, agriculture consists of small-scale farming of paddy (rice), pulses, and fruits such as mangoes, chikoos (sapota), and coconuts. Fisheries play a much larger role in the local food production system, with the Arabian Sea and Daman Ganga estuary providing abundant catches of pomfret, Bombay duck, and prawns.
