Weather & climate

Diu experiences a Tropical Savanna climate (Köppen climate classification: *Aw*), heavily moderated by the Arabian Sea. The weather is generally warm and pleasant throughout the year, preventing the extreme heat often felt on the nearby Gujarati mainland.

Summer (March to May) is warm and humid, with average high temperatures ranging from 30°C to 34°C (86°F to 93°F). The monsoon season spans from June to September, bringing heavy rainfall, high humidity, and lush greenery to the island's landscape. Winter (October to February) is widely considered the best time to visit; temperatures are delightfully mild, dropping to pleasant lows of 15°C to 20°C (59°F to 68°F), accompanied by clear blue skies. Natural disasters are relatively rare, though the island is occasionally brushed by cyclones forming in the Arabian Sea.
