Weather & climate

Daman experiences a tropical savanna climate (Köppen climate classification *Aw*), characterized by distinct wet and dry seasons. The weather is generally maritime, meaning the proximity to the sea keeps temperatures relatively moderate compared to the inland regions of the subcontinent.

Summers (March to May) are hot and humid, with average temperatures ranging from 26°C to 34°C (79°F to 93°F). The monsoon season arrives in June and lasts through September, bringing heavy and continuous rainfall courtesy of the southwest monsoon winds. Humidity during this period frequently exceeds 80%. Winters (November to February) are mild, breezy, and pleasant, with temperatures comfortably hovering between 15°C and 28°C (59°F and 82°F).

The best time to visit Daman is during the winter months, from October to March, when the skies are clear and the weather is cool and inviting. Because of its coastal location, Daman is occasionally impacted by cyclonic systems forming in the Arabian Sea.
